Gingerbread by Rachel Cohn

I finished this book quite a while back, and it was a great book. Gingerbread is about a girl named Cyd Charisse who has a boyfriend named Shrimp. The book, I can't 100% remember everything, because I finished it like 3 weeks ago, but the main story line is that Cyd goes to New York to see her biological dad, "bio dad", and meet her half brother, and half sister. It's about her adventures, and it is extremely interesting. I loved the book, and right now I am reading the 3rd book, Cupcake. I'm hoping i didn't get the 1st and second book mixed up... I hope the first book isn't actually Shrimp...

Technology

I think that technology hasn't affected me that much, but it is definitely affecting our culture. I don't have a cell phone, but about everyone in Profile does. I don't think the cell phone is a bad thing, in fact I think it is a good idea to have one, because it is a good communication tool, and if there is an emergency then you have it there for you. Another way that technology is affecting us is the fact that I am typing this right now on my own net-book. Instead of our school using paper, we have changed to laptops, which is a huge change. It lets us be lazy. Also, the fact that you can read online now, and that everybody is starting to change to reading on the internet, shows that soon our culture might not publish books anymore. I think technology is helping us, but in some ways making the human race lazier. I love the internet, I'm not against technology, but I don't know whether or not it will in the future help us, or go against us. What if the power goes out? What do those people who have online jobs do? Well, there you go, an example of why this might actually hurt us in the long run. But technology might help us beat the aliens, so...
